Features

The eye-catching greenhouse portion of this garden building is flooded with natural light, making the most of the sun's energy to help plants thrive. This is achieved with a styrene glazing, whose resistance to shattering makes it far safer than many types of glass - particularly in family gardens that are prone to mishaps during ball games. An identical glazing features in the single door to match the rest of the greenhouse. Because reducing humidity and lowering the temperature can be equally important in greenhouse environments, a roof vent in the greenhouse can be manually opened to allow hot air to rise from the interior and create a more balanced micro-climate. 

Two single doors for either side of the building give owners a way to access the relevant space with ease. While the storage shed's braced door can be secured with the addition of your own padlock thanks to the galvanised steel pad bolt, the single door of the greenhouse has a lock and key. A feature like this makes the greenhouse pleasing to use and helps explain how this garden building has earned its title as a 'Premium' Mercia product. 

One of the first goals of a garden building like this one is to protect items stored inside from the effects of bad weather. The pent roof of both the storage shed and greenhouse side of this garden building encourages rainfall to run off, reducing the risk of rainwater collecting and eventually permeating the structure. Mineral roofing felt used in the storage shed makes its interior better protected still. 

But where this combi greenhouse outdoes much of its competition when it comes to resisting the harsh elements is in its 12mm timber cladding. Unlike cheaper alternatives, the 8 x 8 Mercia Premium Combi Greenhouse uses a high-quality shiplap cladding. Individual timber pieces are interlocked with a 'tongue and groove' construction to produce panels that are stronger than their parts, and help form a barrier to keep water at bay. As this sturdy shiplap cladding is used for the floor of the storage shed, it is the ideal place to store some heavier items like gardening equipment or shelves. A thick internal framing (28mm x 28mm) provides additional support.

The timber used throughout the combi greenhouse has been dip-treated for a good level of initial protection against the elements while in transit and waiting to be assembled. We recommend treating your garden building with a premium quality wood preservative like those offered in Protek's range. This is easy to add to your order from elbec, and can be a fun opportunity to transform your combi greenhouse into a unique garden feature in the colour of your choice. All timber is also FSC certified, meaning it is sourced from sustainable forests only.

This product is supplied flat packed with instructions and all the fixings necessary to complete construction. The timber used is dip treated, which means it has been pre-treated with a base coat in a brown, industrial product. Please be aware that the colour may vary from any pictures shown. Dip treatment coats the surface of the timber and protects it during manufacture and transit, so you must apply a suitable water-based top coat yourself to ensure your anti-rot guarantee remains valid. You must make sure to follow all the manufacturer’s care instructions in order to maintain the validity of your guarantee - these guidelines will be outlined in the instructions delivered with your product. This will include instructions for periodically treating your timber – Mercia, the manufacturer, recommends Protek Paint, available to purchase from elbec in over 60 stains and colours.

Delivery

ALL DELIVERIES ARE DELIVERED TO KERBSIDE OR DRIVEWAY. All of our Mercia products are delivered flat packed other than fence panels (which are delivered fully constructed), direct to your home, and are supplied with a set of instructions to support assembly.

Booking Delivery

You will be required to book your delivery date at the time of placing your order (except for Metal Shed). Our 'Request a Delivery Date' service is available to the majority of areas and you'll find that the majority of the UK postcodes are FREE but some areas may incur a delivery surcharge and some postcodes are not covered at all. Select a 'requested delivery date' by entering your postcode in the 'Request a delivery date' section above. You will also be notified at this time if your area incurs a surcharge or delivery is not covered in your area.

Prior to Delivery

On the morning of your delivery date, you'll be sent an update by text with an estimated 2-hour delivery slot (this update can only be provided where a mobile number has been supplied on the billing address section at the time of checkout) together with a link to the manufacturer delivery portal where you'll be able to track your order.

Please note: Mercia Metal Sheds ONLY - your order is delivered by a courier you will not be notified prior to the delivery. If you are not in on the day of the delivery you will be carded and asked to contact the courier to arrange a new mutual delivery date. The estimated delivery lead time for Mercia's Metal sheds is identified on the product for the metal shed. Lead times are on working days (Monday - Friday) excludes Bank Holidays. These estimated lead times are provided by the manufacturer. Some remote areas will take a little longer.

Upon Delivery

Your order is delivered either kerbside or driveway and will be delivered on either a 3.5T, 7.5T or 18T Lorry. Unfortunately due to health and safety and insurance liabilities the driver will not be able to take your goods around to the back of your property but may upon request place the product at the side of the house if there are no access or restriction issues. We would not risk damaging your property whilst delivering a product to an unsafe location. Unfortunately, we will not be able to go through your property.

We would recommend against arranging for a third party to install the building before it's been delivered and checked that all parts are present, as we cannot be held liable for any third-party costs.

Orders with Assembly 

The lead time for our installation option is around 7 Weeks from the date of order. With the installation option, the majority of orders will have their delivery and installation on separate days; there will be a small number of orders which will have delivery and installation on the same day. You will be advised by the manufacturer's installation team which category your order falls into.

Depending on the installation option for your order, you will be contacted within the delivery timescale and given a date for either delivery/assembly on the same date or a separate date for delivery and assembly.
